Job summary

Qualifications

• State-required hospice aide training or competency evaluation program.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Understands hospice philosophy and comfortable caring for terminally ill.
• Satisfactory references from previous employers.
• CPR certification.
• Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Good oral and written communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care needs and attend to requests promptly.
• Observe patient condition, report changes to Case Manager and document care.
• Provide bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and linen changes.
• Assist with dressing, meals, feeding, and hydration as assigned.
• Take and record vitals when ordered; monitor comfort and safety.
• Support ambulation, mobility, and simple range-of-motion exercises.
• Provide bedside care, bedpan/urinal assistance, and light laundry.
• Maintain clean, safe living environment and accurate care documentation.
