Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Hospice Aide (HHA) to join the home health and hospice care team. Under RN supervision, the HHA performs personal care services, observes and reports patient condition, and helps ensure quality, continuity and safety of care. Completion of a competency program is required before assignment.

The HHA is part of the interdisciplinary group and will attend scheduled case conferences. Candidates must meet state requirements and maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a state-approved training and competency evaluation program.
• Able to read and follow written instructions and document care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Change bed linens and assist with dressing.
• Assist with meals and feeding if necessary.
• Take temperatures and vital signs when ordered.
• Assist with ambulation and exercises as directed.
• Provide safety and comfort to patients; report changes to nurse.
