Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Certified Hospice Aide to work under the supervision of a registered nurse in patients' homes, ensuring comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include personal care, observation, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality and respectful communication with patients and families. Required training, age, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license are part of the qualifications.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Licensed driver with automobile that is insured and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care including baths, dressing, oral hygiene, and feeding as assigned.
• Observing patient and reporting changes to the Case Manager.
• Providing patient and family with respectful communication and maintaining confidentiality.
• Assisting in ambulation, transfers, and range of motion as directed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly living area for the patient.
• Assisting with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations (e.g., reminders).
• Assisting with meals, shopping, and light laundry as needed.
