Job summary

Omega Hospice Care in the DFW area seeks an experienced Hospice Aide/Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in the patient's home under RN supervision. You will support safe transfers, document care, and maintain a clean, compassionate care environment while communicating with families.

The role emphasizes autonomy, privacy, CPR readiness, and proficiency with care plans and informatics platforms. Training and ongoing education are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Completion of a state CNA/Nurse aide program or Medicare training as specified.
• Must have a current driver’s license.
• At least one year experience as Hospice Aide or Nursing Assistant.
• Ability to read, write and verbally report clinical information.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with WellSky or Consolo to access patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per RN guidelines and the Aide Plan of Care.
• Safely transfer and ambulate patients per hospice protocols.
• Document care details and report any changes promptly.
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean patient environment.
• Communicate openly and respectfully with patients and families.
• Respect patient autonomy, privacy, and property.
• Assist with nutrition and hydration as needed.
• Support efficient workflow and prioritization within the agency.
• Assist with treatments and procedures per policies.
• Advocate for hospice philosophy and follow administrative policies.
• Demonstrate ongoing education and professional growth.
• Stay current with best practices and serve those in need.
