Job summary

Addus HomeCare is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and disabled clients in their homes. The on-call Core HHA works 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed) with at least one weekend day, and no refused assignments.

On-site duties include personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and medication assistance. The role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and the ability to follow plans and instructions with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation (driver's license and proof of insurance if driving).
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; be reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Calls the office every morning for assignment.
• Follows care plans and reports completed tasks.
• Assists with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Performs routine house cleaning, meal prep, and laundry.
• Transports client to doctor visits, store, and errands.
• Assists with self-administration of medications.
• Observes and reports changes in the client’s condition.
