Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. Earn up to $15.68/hour with flexible hours and opportunities to grow in a growing organization.

As an DSP, you’ll follow care plans, assist with personal care, transport clients, and support daily activities. This entry-level role emphasizes reliability, compassion, and strong communication to make a meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of in-home care experience preferred.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
• Reliable transportation is required for member transportation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to follow written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report changes in member's condition.
