Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently in their own homes. The role emphasizes learning quality home care fundamentals, following care plans, and delivering compassionate service in a flexible schedule.

Earn up to $15.68 per hour with daily and weekly pay options, travel reimbursement, direct deposit, and other DSP benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report changes in member's condition.
