Job summary

Sterling Healthcare Management, LLC is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare nutritious, diet-compliant meals for residents in our facility. You will follow standardized recipes, support therapeutic diet orders, and ensure meals residents look forward to every day.

In a structured kitchen, you will monitor temperatures, uphold HACCP guidelines, and operate commercial equipment safely. The role requires reliability, stamina to stand and lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in healthcare or high-volume food service.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture modifications; training provided.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and production schedules.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all meals per posted menu.
• Follow therapeutic diet orders including low sodium, diabetic, renal, and texture-modified diets.
• Prepare texture-modified foods including minced and pureed items.
• Monitor and record food temperatures at critical control points per HACCP.
• Portion and assemble resident trays per diet cards and tray tickets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout the shift.
• Operate ovens, steamers, and slicers safely.
• Rotate and store food inventory using FIFO standards.
• Complete temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and production records.
• Communicate menu changes to the dietary team promptly.
