Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Service Assistant for Staten Island, NY. This part-time role provides clerical and operations support for funeral services, greeting families, answering questions, and coordinating arrangements.

Duties include setup of floral and ceremonial items, assisting on services, driving for transports, and maintaining office tasks with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service or sales preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office; ability to learn databases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns and mementos.
• Assist with documents related to services, cremations and maintenance as directed.
• Assist with preparation of remains and escort duties during services.
• Answer phones, operate office equipment, and perform general clerical tasks.
• Greet client families, assist with visitation, and support transportation needs.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport as required.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
