Job summary

SCI Shared Resources, LLC in Montgomery, AL is seeking a part-time Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and operational support for funeral services. You will meet the public, answer questions, and help with cremation and service information while upholding company values.

The role includes setting up for services, assisting with preparations, handling office duties, and supporting families during visitations and ceremonies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred; ability to learn required.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes, and ensure proper care and storage.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assist with respectful preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting remains or operation of crematory as permitted by law and company policy.
• Perform office duties: answering phones, operating fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit card machine, and other equipment.
• Run errands for flowers, supplies, documents, etc.
• Serve as usher and assist with transportation and parking as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations and funeral services: setup, dressing, casketing, delivering family items and flowers.
• Greet client families and others entering the office and provide information.
