Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations in Corpus Christi, TX. You will assist with services, cremations, and family needs, while handling phones, documents, and transportation requests.

Responsibilities include setup for services, greeting families, coordinating with management, and maintaining professional standards and compassion in all interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Compassion and integrity, and strong communication skills.
• MS Office suite and databases preferred; willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services and cremations as directed by management.
• Assist with preparation of remains and operate crematory as permitted by law and company policy.
• Perform office duties: answering phones, fax, computer systems, and payment processing.
• Run errands for supplies and floral deliveries.
• Serve as usher; assist with transportation and parking as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensure refreshments are available where permitted by law; assist with visitations and services.
• Greet client families and provide information and assistance at the office.
