Houston Hospice seeks a compassionate Receptionist for our Texas Medical Center location. You will be the welcoming face and voice, handling calls, greeting visitors, and supporting front-office operations with professionalism.

The role requires strong communication, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in reception, customer service, call handling, healthcare, hospice, or related office environment preferred.
• Experience using multi-line telephone or cloud-based communication systems preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including a clear and professional telephone presence.

Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Greet visitors and connect them with the appropriate staff member.
• Take accurate messages and ensure timely communication.
• Recognize urgent concerns and follow escalation procedures.
• Maintain a welcoming, organized front reception area.
• Provide general administrative support (data entry, scanning, copying, document handling).
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams for smooth handoffs.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
