Job summary

Pinnacle is seeking a caregiver to provide routine daily nursing care for elders in a facility setting. The role requires English proficiency and the ability to follow established policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state standards.

The position emphasizes compassionate interaction with elders, families, and staff, with an understanding of the needs of aging individuals and the ability to remain composed under stress.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak the English language.
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Possess the ability to deal graciously with personnel, elders, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Must have patience, act with a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm toward elders.
• Must have some understanding of social, psychological and recreational needs of the aged.
• Must have a sincere desire to work with the aged.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other associates.
• Possesses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing programs.
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function.
• May be required and trained to transport elders who need personal assistance; lifting of equipment, supplies and furniture, weighing 50+ pounds may also be required.
• Vaccinations must be up-to-date and proof provided prior to hire

Responsibilities

• Provide elders with routine daily nursing care in accordance with current federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulation governing the facility as well as established nursing home policies and procedures.
• Follow facility policies and state/federal guidelines to ensure quality elder care.
