Job summary

YAI is seeking dedicated direct support professionals to assist individuals with disabilities across programs. The role emphasizes respectful communication, person-centered planning, and safety while supporting daily living activities and community engagement.

You will document progress, participate in training, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure high-quality care aligned with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands (walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds with assistance).
• Effective written and oral communication for billing and tracking purposes.
• Must obtain SCIP-R within one year of appointment and additional program-required certifications within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests, and abilities while building positive relationships.
• Support people to meet personal goals and engage in social activities.
• Supervise and protect individuals, maintain program guidelines, and follow safety policies.
• Provide care with a focus on health, wellness, and safety, including crisis management and infection control.
• Document services and progress notes in electronic health records and participate in team meetings.
