Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide support and care for individuals with intellectual disabilities within their homes or communities.

The role emphasizes health, safety, and promoting independence, with responsibilities spanning documentation, crisis prevention, and adherence to individualized plans. Certification and state-regulated health screenings are required to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
• Successful completion of the Direct Care Worker Competency evaluation process.
• Current CPR Card.
• Current Health Screening in accordance with state regulations.
• Provide one of the listed PA qualifications (nursing license, nurse aide certification, home health aide program certificate or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Ensure client’s Health, Wellness and Safety.
• Encourage goals related to independent living and daily living skills.
• Crisis prevention and intervention as needed.
• Monitor and document client status and progress accurately.
• Implement behavior support plan strategies as appropriate and report concerns promptly.
