Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in their homes or communities. The role focuses on health, safety, and daily living skills, with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities include promoting independence, maintaining records, and adhering to individualized support plans, with training and certification requirements to be met. Strong English skills and valid state certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current Health Screening as per state regulations.
• Proof of qualification from PA licensing or agency-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client’s Health, Wellness and Safety.
• Support independence in daily living activities and personal care.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention.
• Promote advocacy and individual rights.
• Maintain detailed, compliant documentation on client status and progress.
• Implement behavior support plan strategies as applicable.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation immediately.
• Use prompting, instruction, modeling, and reinforcement in person-centered services.
• Promote independence in daily living, work/volunteer, learning and leisure.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Complete required annual trainings to maintain certifications.
