WellLife Network in Queens Village, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will provide personal care, daily living support, and assist with medications and mobility.

The role emphasizes dignity, respect, advocacy, and collaboration with healthcare teams. NY driver’s license preferred; high school diploma required; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Secretarial experience, working with MH population preferred.
• Experience in direct care preferred.
• New York State driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care & Daily Living Support: assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal prep, and household tasks to create a safe home environment.
• Health & Wellness: administer medications as directed and support medical appointments and treatment plans.
• Mobility & Accessibility: assist with walking, transfers, and mobility aids; ensure safe navigation.
• Behavioral & Emotional Support: implement respectful strategies and promote confidence and independence.
• Community & Social Engagement: plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Communication & Advocacy: assist with communication tools and advocate for needs and access to services.
• Collaboration & Documentation: work with healthcare providers; maintain daily notes and reports in electronic systems.
