Job summary

Arc of Acadiana is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist residents in Community Group Homes in Louisiana. You’ll promote safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life through daily living tasks, personal care, and community involvement.

You will receive training, support, and supervision. The role requires reliability and teamwork; shifts include day, evening, and night, with full-time and part-time options and the starting pay of $12.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 21+ years old preferred.
• Reliability, compassion, and ability to work in a team are essential.
• Valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, mobility).
• Support residents in building daily living and social skills per individual plans.
• Remain with residents on shift, ensure safety and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with medication administration after CMA training and supervision.
• Complete documentation and communicate shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Support residents in community activities and transportation as needed.
