Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Stafford Springs, CT. DSPs provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, assisting with daily living activities and promoting independence.

You will support ADLs, document care, and help with community integration; we offer paid orientation, benefits where eligible, and opportunities for training and certification.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver’s license and identification documents.
• Ability to pass a background check and health screenings.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform ADLs.
• Must document care in English and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts) with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans.
