Job summary

Renew Residential Services is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and meaningful support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health-related challenges in their homes and communities.

In this essential role, you will help residents live as independently as possible while ensuring safety, comfort, dignity, and overall quality of life through person-centered care and positive support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass background checks and required screenings.
• Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home & community care settings preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; HIPAA training a plus.
• Experience with medication administration and care plan implementation desirable.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; long shifts require physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with eating; maintain a clean dining environment.
• Assist clients with mobility.
• Implement individualized care plans (developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, memory care).
• Document progress and behavior changes with accurate notes.
• Administer medications per policy and training.
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings.
