Job summary

PossAbility, LLC in Illinois seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help people with diverse abilities live independently and enjoy a good quality of life. DSPs assist with daily tasks, provide emotional support, and advocate for clients, upholding dignity and person-centered care.

You will work as part of a team to implement care plans, support community participation, monitor health and safety, and document progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Direct Care experience.
• Minimum 1 year with IDD and TBI.
• Minimum 1 year In-Home Care experience.
• Be an active Direct Support Professional (DSP) in HCWR and complete approved training.

Responsibilities

• Compassionate care: assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and ADLs/IADLs.
• Community integration: support social inclusion, transport to appointments and activities.
• Health & safety: monitor wellbeing, support medications, maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Documentation: accurately record services and progress toward goals as required.
