Job summary

A New Well is seeking a Transportation Driver/Transportation Aide to safely transport individuals served to day programs, medical appointments, and community activities in accordance with program standards and waivers. This role emphasizes health, safety, dignity, and rights during all transport, with accurate documentation and compliance with transportation regulations.

The position requires strong communication, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and customer service

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License for vehicle operated.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to pass criminal background checks.
• Ability to pass drug screening if required.
• CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or required within designated timeframe.
• Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport individuals served to assigned destinations.
• Operate agency vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Ensure individuals are secured using seat belts and wheelchair restraints when applicable.
• Complete Transportation Attendance Logs accurately and timely.
• Document departure and arrival times; complete mileage logs if required.
• Report incidents or safety concerns immediately; complete incident reports.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies during transport; maintain confidentiality.
