This role emphasizes teamwork with kitchen staff, inventory management, and keeping accurate temperature logs. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, culinary training is a plus, and prior healthcare or assisted living kitchen

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
• Experience as a cook in healthcare/assisted living is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Menu Planning: Assist in planning weekly menus considering dietary needs and restrictions.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures; maintain cleanliness.
• Resident Interaction: Engage with residents, accommodate preferences and dietary concerns.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock, place orders, ensure freshness and shelf life.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain equipment and report issues to supervisor.
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Documentation: Keep temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
