Southfork is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents in our senior living community. This role focuses on food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, prior cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant settings, and a passion for working with the elderly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritional, appetizing meals and adherence to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Serve meals timely, maintaining quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and report shortages.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
