The Cook will ensure meals meet dietary needs and create a warm dining experience for residents. The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, with culinary certification a plus, and healthcare/assisted living experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
• Experience: Previous cook experience in healthcare or assisted living setting desirable.
• Skills: Strong culinary skills with focus on food preparation and presentation; knowledge of dietary requirements for elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Menu Planning: Assist in planning weekly menus catering to residents’ dietary needs and restrictions.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures; maintain a clean kitchen.
• Resident Interaction: Engage with residents in a friendly, respectful manner and accommodate preferences.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ordering of supplies.
