Job summary

Bridgewell in Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated Driver to transport persons served to day programs and residences, ensuring safety and comfort during each trip.

You will monitor passengers for medical or behavioral issues, assist with entering and exiting the vehicle, and maintain vehicle cleanliness, incident reporting, and route awareness.

This part-time schedule runs Monday through Friday, totaling 20 hours per week, with benefits and opportunities for growth within Bridgewell.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 19 years of age or older, with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Must have a valid MA or neighboring state driver's license and a satisfactory driving record with no egregious violations and no more than 3 moving violations in the last ten years.
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to interact with patience and sensitivity in all contacts with individuals, residential staff, parents, and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport persons served to assigned programs and locations, ensuring arrival on time and passenger safety.
• Interact with passengers and families in a patient and respectful manner.
• Be familiar with passenger needs and support ongoing care during transit.
• Operate the vehicle in compliance with all laws and safety procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of routes and locations of facilities and report route issues to management.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance and required safety inspections.
• Complete safety checklists, occupancy signage, and attendance/mileage records after each route.
• Notify dispatch of any route time variances of 15 minutes or more.
• Complete incident reports as required by Bridgewell policies.
