Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a qualified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care and support under the direction of supervisory staff. The role focuses on quality resident care in line with established policies and procedures, including conducting rounds and ensuring accurate resident identification for care and meals.

Ideal candidates will have a CNA license, at least 6 months of CNA or clinical training experience, and a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.

Qualifications

• Have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
• A minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience in training.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and challenging individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned in accordance with facility policies and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours thereafter.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals to ensure correct recipient.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds and clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled, and within resident reach.
• Carry out other related duties as directed by supervisors or administrator.
