Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care under supervision of licensed nursing staff.

You will support residents with daily living activities, ensure safety, and log care and observations. Starting wage is $22.00 per hour and increases with experience. English reading/writing and empathetic interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in nursing assistant program or licensed CNA.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience.
• Desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Able to deal tactfully with staff, residents, families, visitors and general public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, with ability to handle residents appropriately.
• Good general health and emotional stability.
• Able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies, nursing care procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident ID before care or meals to ensure proper care.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed areas.
• Serve water; ensure pitchers are clean and accessible.
• Dress residents and assist with clothing as needed.
• Assist in meal preparation and feeding as required.
• Prepare residents for therapies or activities and transport as needed.
• Keep residents clean, dry and manage incontinence.
• Report complaints or abuse immediately to Charge Nurse.
• Attend in-service trainings and meetings as directed.
