Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services in the United States seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide daily supportive and functional care to residents under nursing leadership. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team focused on the resident directing their own care.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, observing residents, documenting care, and maintaining a safe, clean environment while supporting meals and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Missouri: Current CNA certification.
• Illinois: Current CNA certification.
• Pennsylvania: Enrollment, or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days of completion of training, PA nurse aide registry.
• Ability to communicate with residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintains residents’ comfort; provides physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice; answers call lights and requests; reports observations to the nurse.
• Handles residents’ personal care needs and supports in a timely manner; helps maintain dignity by promoting independence.
• Observes residents closely to identify changing needs and reports to the nurse.
• Participates in residents’ care/service plans to improve lives.
• Assists residents during mealtimes and feeds those needing full assistance.
• Creates and maintains meaningful relationships with residents and their families; provides compassionate care.
• Supports residents’ involvement in decisions about daily activities; assists activities.
• Assists with residents’ therapies and treatments under licensed staff guidance.
• Documents care provided in clinical records.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.
