Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services seeks compassionate CNAs to provide daily supportive and functional care to residents in a team-based environment. You will assist with activities of daily living, respond to calls, and report observations to nursing staff to ensure quality resident care.

You will help with personal care, support resident dignity, participate in care plans, and assist with mealtimes and therapies under licensed supervision.

Qualifications

• Missouri: Current CNA certification
• Illinois: Current CNA certification
• Pennsylvania: Enrollment, or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days of completion of the training program, on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry

Responsibilities

• Maintains residents’ comfort; provides physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice; answers resident’s call lights and requests; reports observations of residents to the nurse
• Handles residents’ personal care needs and support in a timely manner; helps maintain residents’ dignity by letting them do as much for themselves
• Observes residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions and reports information to the nurse
• Actively participates in residents’ care/service plans for the purpose of improving residents’ lives
• Assists residents during mealtimes and feeds residents who need full assistance
• Creates and maintains meaningful relationships with residents and their families; provides support with compassion and professionalism
• Supports residents’ involvement in decision making regarding their own daily activities; Assists residents with activities
• Assists with residents’ therapies and treatments under the direction of licensed staff
• Documents care provided in clinical records
• Maintains a clean and safe environment
