Job summary

Bethesda Brings out the Best in Talented, Caring People! in Belleville, IL seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential patient care and support under the direction of the Charge Nurse.

You will document vitals, assist with daily activities, and ensure safety, courtesy, and comfort for residents throughout shifts. Responsibilities include accurate intake/output recording, rounds, mobility assistance, and timely reporting of changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Accurately records height, weight, vital signs, intake/output and documents in patient record charts.
• Orientates new resident to the facility, ensures armband placement and admission kit are provided.
• Responds to call lights promptly and completes rounds as assigned.
• Assists with turning/repositioning residents and uses proper body mechanics.
• Applies devices and aids per orders and reports needs to Charge Nurse promptly.
• Maintains supplies and equipment and follows departmental procedures.
• Gives report at end of shift and participates in handoffs with incoming staff.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
