Job summary

Bethesda Health Group in Belleville, NJ is seeking a compassionate Certified Nurse Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. You will assist with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, safety, and daily living activities, document care appropriately, and respond promptly to resident needs.

Eligible candidates are CNAs with CPR certification or willing to obtain it within six months; long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of employment.
• CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer/move patients weighing 200+ lbs with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull equipment weighing over 40 lbs with assistance.
• Manual dexterity and accurate documentation ability.
• Visual acuity adequate to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Document appropriately into patient records and charting.
• Orient new residents and complete admission processes.
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs.
• Take vital signs and monitor intake/output.
• Turn/reposition residents every 2 hours and assist with seating repositioning.
• Assist with devices, stocks, and equipment per orders.
• Maintain supplies and alert Charge Nurse of needs.
• Render duties as CNA and accept reassignment as needed.
• Give end-of-shift report to Charge Nurse.
