Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support daily patient care in the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) at this Milwaukee-area hospital. You will assist RNs with routine patient care, monitor vital signs, document in EMR, and help with admission, discharge and coordination of tests.

Applicants should have a GED/HSED or high school diploma and a state CNA credential or equivalent; BLS is required within 45 days.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to interruptions and changing priorities/workloads.
• High level of attention to detail essential.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation and documents data in EMR.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision of RN.
• Performs purposeful rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Performs nourishment-related tasks and skin care to support patient needs.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Coordinates tests and treatments with/among departments and maintains EHR systems knowledge.
• Facilitates communications and handles calls and unit operations.
• Prepares chart forms for admissions/transfers/discharges and ensures accurate patient data in records.
