Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a weekday night shift Nursing Assistant to join the Med Surg team. 36 hours per week with 8-hour shifts (23:00–07:30) on weekdays, plus every-other-weekend and holiday rotations. Under RN supervision, you will assist with daily patient care, vital signs, and transfers while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Minimum GED/HSE or high school diploma required. BLS certification and state Nurse Aide registration must be obtained within 45 days.

• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
• Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs, I & O, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding under direction of RN and communicates observations and needs of patient/family to RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision of RN.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Completes various errands, maintains stock, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties and supports nutritional needs.
• Maintains skin integrity and appropriate patient supplies and appliances.
