Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Summit nursing float pool. The role entails 36 hours per week with 3 shifts of 12 hours (1830-0700), including every third weekend and alternating holidays per rotation.

You will assist with daily patient care, document data in EMR, and support admission/transfer activities under RN supervision. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 45 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with on-the-job nursing aide training.
• Basic nursing assistant skills and ability to document patient data accurately.
• Teamwork, communication and basic computer skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility and positioning.
• Record vital signs, intake/output and daily weights in EMR.
• Perform rounding and relay observations to RN promptly.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Complete errands, stock nursing areas and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Support patient dietary needs, skin care and use of assistive devices as required.
