Good Samaritan in George, IA is looking for a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, meals, and comfort while working under an RN supervision.

The role requires CNA certification or enrollment in a CNA program, with previous long-term care experience preferred. Limited driving duties may apply; shifting schedules are 8 hours day shifts, full-time, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
• Documents resident interactions and gatherings vital signs as needed.
