Job summary

Good Samaritan in George, IA is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will deliver daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse, following care plans and infection control policies.

The role requires CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or enrollment in a training program, a minimum age of 16, and the ability to document resident interactions and vital signs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior CNA experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing required, or enrollment in a training program to obtain certification.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• When applicable, for states, registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility under RN supervision.
• Record and communicate residents' changes in condition and care needs to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, dining, and nourishment; support wellness and recreational programs.
