Job summary

Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for the GSS IA Waukon Center in Waukon, IA. The role provides resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision and assists with activities of daily living, meals, and mobility.

The NA helps monitor vital signs, maintains infection control practices, and supports wellness and recreational programs. A CNA certification is required, with prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GED is preferred but not required.
• CNA certification required or in process within four months of start date.
• A minimum of 12 hours of continuing education per year is required.
• State CNA certification or registration as required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and meals.
• Provide resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, ROM, and mobility.
• Support infection control and PPE usage.
• Participate in wellness and recreational programs as needed.
