Job summary

Good Samaritan in Waukon, IA is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) for long-term care. The evening shift is part of a full-time schedule, with 40 hours weekly and responsibilities including assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and resident comfort, under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification required by the state, either already held or in process within four months of start date.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours of continuing education are required.
• Possible Driver designation with Sanford driving policy where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance as outlined in the care plan.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques and equipment.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, dining, and hydration; support wellness and recreation programs.
