Job summary

Good Samaritan in Algona, IA is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will support daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and assist with transfers and mobility under RN supervision.

The position requires CNA certification with the State Board or active enrollment, a minimum age of 16, and prior long-term care experience preferred. Evening shifts, 30 hours weekly, competitive benefits, and a drug-free workplace are included.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in process of obtaining certification.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Completes yearly department competency testing and maintains continuing education credits.
• May require Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) registry where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license where duties apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Record vital signs and document resident information.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and range of motion exercises.
• Assist with meals and maintain a positive dining experience.
• Follow infection prevention policies and use PPE.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
