Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Woodland, CA is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care under the supervision of licensed staff. You will perform resident rounds, verify IDs, and assist with daily living activities in accordance with facility policies to maintain high-quality resident care.

Applicants must hold a CNA license with at least 6 months of experience or clinical CNA training, be fluent in English, and able to work well with residents, families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Must have a license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical CNA experience.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility policies and procedures, nursing care procedures, and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care.
• Verify resident identification before administering care or serving food to ensure correct care.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within resident reach.
• Other related duties as directed by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
