Job summary

La Sierra Care Center in California seeks a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care to residents per their assessment plan, in line with federal, state and local standards, and as directed by supervisors.

You will treat residents with kindness and respect, knock before entering rooms, assist with feeding, grooming, transfers and mobility, report changes to the charge nurse, maintain HIPAA privacy, and follow infection control policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA training from an accredited school.
• Valid CNA certificate number.

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights promptly.
• Provide care in privacy and dignity.
• Make residents comfortable (bed, water, etc.).
• Assist feeding (cutting food, spoon feeding).
• Help with grooming, shower or sponge bath.
• Lifting and transferring residents safely.
• Assist residents to sit, stand and walk.
• Transport residents to dining/activities and return.
• Report changes to the Nurse Supervisor promptly.
• Protect resident files and data; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Follow facility policies; do not disclose IDs/passwords.
• Follow infection control policies.
• Report occupational exposures immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.
