Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med/Surg 2 unit in Sheboygan County. 36 hours per week across 3 shifts, with every third weekend and every other holiday. Pay range listed as $20.80 - $31.20 per hour, with full-time benefits.

The role supports RN staff in daily patient care, document vital signs in the EMR, and participate in admissions, transfers and discharges. Emphasis on safety, infection control, and patient comfort across a general medical-surgical population.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and patient data in the EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to the RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing per approved processes.
• Assists with linen, stock management, and cleanliness of the nursing area.
• Performs patient positioning and transportation duties, and assists with diet-related tasks.
• Maintains skin integrity and ensures necessary patient supplies and equipment are available.

Education

GED or HSED or High School Diploma
