Job summary

TEEMA seeks a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support a patient-centered clinic in San Francisco, CA. The CMA will collaborate with providers and nursing staff to ensure smooth clinical operations and high-quality care for older adults.

Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, medication administration within scope, EMR data entry, and coordinating follow-up visits. A minimum of 1 year CMA experience and BLS are required, with a focus on compassionate patient

Qualifications

• Education and CMA certification/license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year of CMA experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with frail/elderly populations preferred (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and escorting to exam rooms.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, blood glucose checks and other clinical procedures.
• Assist providers and nurses with examinations, treatments and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications or immunizations within CMA scope.
• Handle lab specimens with proper labeling and courier readiness.
• Follow safety, infection control and confidentiality protocols (HIPAA).
• Collaborate with the clinical team to manage patient flow and scheduling.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments with scheduling staff.
• Answer clinic phones and relay important messages to care staff.
• Maintain a clean, stocked exam room and monitor inventory.
• Enter medication and immunization histories into EMR.
• Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other tasks within CMA scope.
