Job summary

MN Adult & Teen Challenge in Brainerd, MN is seeking a Client Care Specialist to lead and support clients in the Life Renewal/IOL program. You will provide encouragement, oversee activities during shifts, and maintain a safe, caring floor environment that supports recovery.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, compassionate accountability, and collaboration with a care team. Candidates should value a faith-based, mission-driven setting and be prepared to uphold MnTC’s Culture of Honor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience with vulnerable adults.
• Experience as mental health certified peer specialist per MN statute 256B.0615.
• Comfort and compassion in working with individuals facing life-controlling challenges.
• Commitment to MnTC's Culture of Honor and core values.
• Valid driver’s license in MN with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.

Responsibilities

• Come alongside clients with curiosity and genuine care - building relationships and aligning with recovery goals.
• Support clients on living and programming floors during the shift.
• Serve as first point of contact for questions, concerns, and needs.
• Maintain a safe, calm floor environment and intervene when needed.
• Observe client mood and behavior and report observations to the care team.
• Communicate updates to incoming staff to support continuity of care.
• Assist in client intake and discharges.
• Supervise and document medication administration and related tasks.
• Safely operate MnTC vehicles for transport of clients.
• Administer and supervise UA and BA testing.
• Provide spiritual support and lead Personal Study Topics as requested.
• Use trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing techniques.
• Follow program policies and required trainings.
