Qualifications

• Ability to assist students with gross motor activities.
• Ability to assist students with fine motor activities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom/student management and maintaining discipline.
• Monitors the safety and well-being of students in all school areas.
• Assist therapists and other specialists with student needs.

Skills

Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations

Knowledge of care for individuals with disabilities

Ability to work with disabled children

Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information

Ability to work cooperatively with other school personnel

Education

High school diploma from a regionally accredited school

Two year Associate's Degree preferred

Willingness to pursue the degree during employment
