Job summary

The City of Seattle is seeking compassionate Customer Service Representatives for a six-month temporary assignment at the Seattle Animal Shelter. CSRs handle licensing, payments, and front-line inquiries, serving a diverse public in a fast-paced environment.

This non-benefited position requires excellent communication, strong organization, and comfort working around animals. Weekend/evening availability is required and onsite work is expected at the shelter.

Qualifications

• One year of administrative experience with public customer contact.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to interpret and apply City ordinances and rules.
• Experience with animals or animal business administration preferred.
• Bi- or multilingual capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer high volume calls, emails and online requests and provide shelter information.
• Issue, renew and cancel pet licenses and navigate the licensing portal.
• Process payments via phone, in person, by mail and email.
• Maintain PetPoint database and update contact information.
• Sort, log, and distribute mail and assist with deposits.
• Support Public Disclosure requests and file management.
