Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Rita's Medical Center to provide basic health care under the guidance of a registered nurse. The role includes assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a safe, clean patient environment.

You will document care using EPIC EHR and collaborate with the health care team. BLS is preferred; nursing aide training or STNA/CNA certification is required, with prior acute care or home health experience

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.
• Successful completion of nursing aide training OR STNA/CNA OR equivalent nursing program.
• Recent experience in acute care, home health, hospice, or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care: comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene.
• Report changes and concerns to the nurse; assist with mobility and transfers.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Document care accurately and timely in the health record.
• Participate in hand-off reports and unit-based duties.
