Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the St. Rita’s Medical Center Inpatient Rehab unit.

The role supports nursing staff by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Preferred candidates have nursing aide training or CNA certification and BLS, with recent acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of nursing aide training program or CNA/certification required
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred or to be obtained prior to direct care
• Recent experience in acute care or similar clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including safety, comfort, and personal needs
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse
• Assist with mobility, feeding, hygiene, and daily activities
• Document care accurately and timely in the EHR
