Job summary

Colorow Care Center is seeking an Activities Specialist to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational and social programs for residents in accordance with their care plans. You will lead group and individual activities, coordinate schedules, prepare spaces, and support residents during activities, while respecting rights and following policies.

Qualifications include 1-2 years in healthcare, arts and crafts aptitude, and a high school diploma or equivalent; the role offers

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position, in healthcare environment preferred.
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required.
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respect and uphold residents' rights while carrying out duties.
• Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar.
• Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
• Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed.
• Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room.
• Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations.
• Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.
